The countdown continues! The 2022 NBA Draft is now 10 days away. I know, it’s kind of crazy, we’re still in the NBA Finals, two weeks before the Miami Heat season ends, but it’s true!
The Heat have the No. 27 pick in this year’s draft, which will be their fourth first-round pick since 2016. They might trade this pick, but for now, let’s act as if they kept it.
Similar to how they usually operate, the Heat have been tight-lipped about who they have trained in this pre-draft process. But for now, let’s keep track of everyone we know the Heat have worked out or are planning to work out.
Keon Ellis, forward, Alabama
Alabama’s Cohen Ellis will practice with the Miami Heat tomorrow afternoon, a source told @Stockrisers. 6’6, a terrific guard who also excels on offense (12.1 ppg in 33 games last season). There was a lot of interest across the league.

Jamal Cain, forward, Oakland
Add Oakland senior Jamal Kane to this list as well.

Jamal Cain is one of my favorite sleepers. Fifth year at Auckland University, transferring from Marquette. 6’7 range and 3 rating up. The defense is rough, but he can be a great scorer in the NBA. 31/51/83 Average 21&10 pic.twitter.com/1QuzPR21Ob

Blake Wesley, a possible first-round pick from Notre Dame, said he has scheduled workouts with the Grizzlies, Heat and Bulls. He has visited the Nuggets, Spurs, Pistons, Cavaliers, Bucks and Hornets.

SB Nation says about him:
“Wesley was in the top 100 for recruiting services from South Bend before committing to hometown Notre Dame and becoming their offensive engine and leading scorer. As a 6-foot-5 guard with a 6-foot wingspan At 11″, Wesley has tantalizing creative potential, with his quickness, long arms and ability to put pressure on the rim in his first steps. It sometimes feels like Wesley can do whatever he wants on the court because of his speed and skill. The finish was a different story: He made just 51 percent of his attempts at the rim and often struggled in layup range. Wesley also has potential as a shooter, but he still needs to prove he’s 172 on 3-pointers Still useful after shooting 52-for-52 (30.2%). If Wesley can improve as a finisher and shooter, he has some decidedly impressive physical tools. Based on his talent, he deserves more than This is a higher achievement.”
Christian Braun, G, Kansas (maybe)

Christian is in Miami now, presumably to work out with the Miami Heat!
