How to join the Modern Warfare 2 Beta

Dubbed the “Open Beta,” Modern Warfare 2 will arrive ahead of the game’s release date on October 28. The goal of the Modern Warfare 2 Beta is for players to “give the necessary feedback to help ensure the best day-one experience possible when the game launches.”

Everyone and their cats can join the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta on all available platforms. All you need is a Call of Duty account linked to the gaming platform of your choice to join after the game is released.

At the time of writing, the exact contents of the Modern Warfare 2 public beta are unknown. We want it to have some new modes and some maps to test, just like in Vanguard. However, some Call of Duty fans will want early access to the beta!

COD Modern Warfare 2 Beta – Early Access and Platform

To get early access to the Modern Warfare 2 public beta, you’ll need to pre-order the game on the platform of your choice.

It’s important to note that if you purchased a physical copy of the game through a participating retailer, you will need to add your Modern Warfare 2 Early Access Beta code. This is a 13 character code that will be provided (possibly by email) and you must redeem through this page.

Remember, PlayStation gamers will get early access to COD Modern Warfare 2 Beta five days earlier than all other platforms.

Speaking of platforms, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta will be available on the following gaming devices:

• PC via Steam or Battle.net.
• PlayStation 4 and 5.
• Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X.

Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta – Release Date and Schedule

As of this writing, there is no official release date or timeline for the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta.

However, we do know it will happen before the game’s official launch on October 28, 2022. Also, looking back at past Call of Duty games, the beta version of Vanguard was released on September 10, while the game was released on November 5.

To that end, we’re expecting a September 2022 release date window for the Modern Warefare 2 open beta, with PlayStation 4 and 5 gamers kicking off the five-day Early Access first, and then the rest of the time.
