Milton High School Class of 2022 Reminds They Always Have a Community

Milton — “This is your moment, seniors,” Milton School Board President Ada Rosmarin said to the Milton High School class of 2022.

Rosmarin welcomes the class, friends and family to Milton High School Commencement on Sunday, June 5th on the school grounds. She read “The Mountain We Climbed” by Amanda Gorman and told graduating students that the Milton community sends them its best wishes as they move on to their next chapter.

“Enjoy the moment and put hope in your heart as you set out to challenge the world and make it a better place,” Rosmarin said.

Selected student speaker Angelina Colón’s poetic presentation recounts the experiences of 276 graduates, from learning via Zoom to the distance that creates connections between students.

“We solved an equation that we didn’t know how to do, so when you’re feeling weak and tired, remember the obstacles you move, the negativity you push down, the motivation you lose easily, the overdue tasks, the ones you’re moving through for the new All the noise and confusion and commotion of the struggle for things,” Colon said.

She got a big round of applause and a standing ovation.

Class president Liam Goodman recalled the class’s high school experience, noting that they were only a year and a half of “real high school.” However, they shared championships, musicals and disco nights. He applauded the kindness and inclusion of the class and reminded graduates to be proud of where they are.

“It doesn’t matter when you join the Milton community, the moment you become a student at Milton High, you become family,” Goodman said. “You will always be part of this Milton community.”

Before awarding the diploma, Principal Karen J. Cahill had a parting message for the class. Despite their lost time and disappointment, the graduates persevered, she said. Cahill describes them as resilient, determined, inclusive and enthusiastic.

“Whatever path you choose, I want you to know that you will always have a place at Milton High,” Cahill said.
