Great tips! Turn your jeans inside out and wash/rinse them in cold water on the delicate cycle. Hot water causes the dye to fade and normal washing will loosen the fabric, leading to premature fraying and/or holes. This will extend the life of them and in turn save you money!

[...] Missing payments on any of your accounts. Whether it’s intentional or a genuine mistake, missing a payment on your debt can set you back several months. Not only will you have to pay the late fee, you’ll also have to make up two payments instead of one. Unfortunately, if you can’t afford to catch up, you could end up too far behind to catch up.Source: thehowtogetoutofdebtplan.com [...]

Yes, we have all been through most of these situations above.. I cut up my credit card for two years after leaving uni as I couldnt cope with the repayments. After that I got used to buying only what I could afford. Now I have a credit card, I hardly use it as I got out of that habit.

Student loan hell is right. My mom went to college for ten years because she took some time off in between to take care of my sister and me. After she graduated from Morgan Univ. (which is supposed to be one of the most superior black colleges in the US), the loan company she borrowed from (Sallie Mae) harassed her like crazy. She had jobs in her field here and there from late 2004 to mid summer 2006, but after that she couldn't get another job in her field. As a result, her credit became messed up because of these school loans and she had to work minimal wage jobs like cashier and so forth. There was no way she could pay back those huge loan bills!

Great article! Changing your mindset is definitely the first step in fighting debt. If you keep spending you'll just be a debt slave for the rest of your life and might even leave some of that to your kids. the other really helpful strategy is prioritizing debt. You can use tools like the CNN Debt Planner which will help you calculate which debt you need to fight first in order to pay the least amount of total interest.

I find the talk about Tips For Getting Out Of Credit Card Debt all a bit meaningless. Political leaders and central banks round the planet have done everything they can to preserve failed banking institutions, and lending that was risky from the onset. We will not have a real self sustaining recovery without an end to deficit spending and lots of lending institutions going bust. I find discussion about mortgage finance and home loans a bit meaningless. I also think the house prices have to reduce a lot even now. I mean why would you want to own a home in Spain or France? Isn't it much cheaper to rent? Regards, Rafaela Glassel

I have learned some important things as a result of your post. I would also like to express that there can be situation where you will apply for a loan and don't need a cosigner such as a Government Student Support Loan. But if you are getting a loan through a conventional financial institution then you need to be prepared to have a cosigner ready to assist you to. The lenders are going to base any decision on a few issues but the greatest will be your credit rating. There are some loan providers that will furthermore look at your job history and determine based on that but in many instances it will hinge on your scores.

I believe debt settlement companies are grabbing the opportunity in pulling people "no choice" situation to bite any system that will get them out of debt. The truth is these companies can be helpful in the short-run, but in the long-run they are just pushing us in a deeper debt trap.

Thanks for the informative post. Many have filed complaints to the debt settlement companies as they had paid more than their usual debt. Furthermore, many are not aware with the hidden cost charged by these companies. Hope that there's a regulation that rule out those hidden costs and unscrupulous debt settlement companies.

Just before comming to this sight I typed in incest at the search engine and found the most disturbing videos I wanted to see just how far down the road we are on the way to perdition , I chose incest because God said in scriptures that he throws people guilty of it into the fire , as a nation I'm was afraid that we were done for , but before resigning myself to the fact I typed in moral collapse of America , which brought me here , I had not thought about using the bible to fix finances , God has sought out my every need , but I have always prayed and he has always heard my prayer

The human condition is something I don't see addressed. What do you do when you are paying off your debts and cutting back expenses. What do you do with your time. Some people can't go in to a store without spending money there. I am one of those boredom shoppers. If I have nothing to do I go to a store and find something "that's neat!" and sometimes I end up buying it.
Thank God there's the internet. Instead of focusing on buying something I focus on information about how to do something for free! I also take long walks with my dog for exercise.
